The DIY wood sign workshop company Board & Brush is coming to downtown Walnut Creek where Rainbow’s End Thrift Store used to be through the passageway next to the Mediterranean restaurant Pomegranate. According to their calendar the first workshop (Family Inspired) will be held on October 25th. Check out the details here and watch for updates on their Facebook page here. Considering how prevalent paint & sip studios are around here it’s cool to see a twist using wood. Not sure if they will allow alcohol here. Stay tuned…

Earlier this month we learned that Pancheros Mexican Grill closed in the Orchards shopping center in Walnut Creek with the possibility of an Indian restaurant opening in its place and that turns out to be exactly the case as Patra Indian Grill is coming soon to this location. A new poke restaurant called Fresh Box Poke is coming to the Park ‘N’ Shop in Concord all the way at the far end on the side near Mimi’s Cafe. A sign about this restaurant was posted on the window of the nearby restaurant STEAMBOAT so it may be related. Stay tuned…
Broadway Pointe, Walnut Creek
Earlier this month we learned that the online thrift store ThredUp would be opening their second retail location (10 month popup) in the Broadway Pointe shopping center in downtown Walnut Creek where H&M used to be and they are now open. I stopped by with my teenage daughter and was impressed with both the selection and quality of clothes. Before you go clothing shopping drop by to see what they offer. You could save quite a bit AND help the environment at the same time!
