Back in 2011 when the San Francisco Giants Dugout store opened in downtown Walnut Creek, they had won the World Series the year before, and would go on to win the World Series the following year. The last few years have not been as rewarding with losing seasons the last three years so it’s not surprising they closed last week. Thanks to all who emailed me about this.
City Center Bishop Ranch, San Ramon
Philz Coffee latest expansion is to City Center Bishop Ranch in San Ramon. Stay tuned…
A year after first opening and City Center Bishop Ranch is a lot more crowded than before which is not surprising since so many new restaurants, retails shops and other experiences have opened recently making it a lot more interesting than before.

A new, locally-owned stationery and gift boutique called Write That Down opened recently in Walnut Creek right next to Pancoast Pizza. In addition to shopping, they also plan on hosting events such as flower arranging, calligraphy and more. Sign up for the flower arranging class here and find out more about the grand opening party on January 11th here. Thanks to all who emailed me about this.

Until fairly recently Amazon Books at Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek had no price tags. You had to scan items on one of their scanners scattered around the store. I’m glad they now have electronic price tags with both Prime and non-Prime pricing that can be automatically updated. Way more convenient shopping there now!

There’s a certain restaurant in downtown Walnut Creek with a “Best of” award sign posted in the window from the year 2000. How long should these signs be posted? Does an award from 20 years ago encourage you to check it out or the opposite?
