The Mexican restaurant Maguey opened a couple of months ago at Stone Valley Center in Alamo where Don Jose’s used to be. Check out their menu here.
Thanks to a reader for pointing out that the paint and ship studio Canvas and Cabernet, which opened in downtown Walnut Creek back in 2013, has relocated across from the Kaiser medical center on S. Main St. As you can see in the photo below, the signage says, “The Practice for Women”, but the Canvas and Cabernet website still has classes available on their calendar. They are open Thursday – Saturday, 6 – 9pm and Sundays 3 – 6pm. Check for updates on their Facebook page here.

Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
Napa-based fast casual restaurant Heritage Eats opened over the weekend at Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek. As you can see there is a small outdoor patio in front. Check out their Walnut Creek menu here.
La Fiesta Square, Lafayette
The women’s clothing boutique Specialtees closed the last day of 2017 in Lafayette’s La Fiesta Square and this spot has been split in half with Oakland-based Harper Greer, another clothing boutique, planning to occupy the left side next to the health store Open Sesame.
