Late last year we learned that Vic Stewart’s would be closing in downtown Walnut Creek and now that the building is getting demolished to make room for new retail space, the Southern Pacific rail car is visible before it gets shipped off to the Martinez Historical Society museum. Thanks to a reader for pointing out this cool historical piece of Walnut Creek!
They note:
I think this is the first time the car has been visible since it was placed there in 1974 when the building was moved here and converted to a restaurant.

OI-C Bowl hasn’t been closed for long and already Siam Fine Thai Cuisine has soft-opened in this downtown Walnut Creek spot. The restaurant, with a Palo Alto location, serves traditional Thai cuisine compared to the more fusion-style Thai dishes you might find around town. Check out their menu here.

home/made kitchen closed last Spring in Moraga and now a new restaurant/bakery from the owner of the Sliders food truck called Town Bakery & Cafe has reopened in its place. They plan on offering breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as freshly baked goods and plan to open open early to catch the early morning crowd heading to work. Looks great, can’t wait to try this place out!
