1:00 – 2:30pm | FreeThe library welcomes a docent from the DeYoung Museum to talk about the mid-century painter Stuart Davis. Davis was a great American original, creating bold vibrant paintings that combined European modernism, American street culture, and the rhythms of jazz.
Late last year we saw a public parklet come to Coffee Shop in Downtown Walnut Creek taking over a couple of parking spots and now a new dining patio has opened in front of 54 Mint Il Forno and the wine bar Residual Sugar, just in time for the great weather we’ve been having. Yeah!

The New York-based clothing store J.McLaughlin is coming soon to Hartz Ave. in Danville where Enchanted Florist & Gifts used to be, next to the historic Danville Hotel where Basque Boulangerie Cafe is located. 1491 Newell Ave, Walnut Creek
George’s Giant Hamburger, located in the Terrace Shops center on Newell Ave. in Walnut Creek has a new owner who has applied for an alcohol license to serve beer and wine. Some other changes are the inclusion of new menu items such as the Bulgogi burger, made with thinly sliced rib eye steak marinated in sweet soy sauce, as well as a chicken salad sandwich. They also now accept credit cards. The meat is still ground on-site daily like it always has been for the past 30 years. Check out their menu here and Facebook page here.

Check out the new Old Navy storefront at Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek. It has an interesting white background with blue slats design in front that changes the look depending where you are. They will be opening next Saturday April 15th.

Earlier this year we learned that Dojo Ramen Bar would be coming to Sunvalley Shopping Center in Concord in their new food court area but when I stopped by recently the signage has been removed. The “coming soon” page is still up on the mall directory so hopefully they’ll still be opening…
