Bourbon Highway Soft Opening Later Today in Walnut Creek

Bourbon Highway, a restaurant and bar featuring Southern comfort food and country music is soft opening today from 4pm – 11pm today. Check out their menu here. In addition to standard country fare such as chicken and waffle sandwiches and baby back ribs they also offer other options such as kale salads and mahi mahi tacos. Complimenting these dishes will be artisanal signature drinks, wine, and craft beer. Live entertainment including top country hits and streaming music will be provided by DJ/remixer/producer Dee Jay Silver.

Lemon Popup Shop Opens in Danville

Earlier this month we learned that Lemon, a new popup shop featuring gifts, baby and home goods would be opening where Edge Boutique used to be in Danville and they are now open through December 31st. Check out their Instagram page here.

Lemon is the ultimate gift shop! With items for baby, toddler, women, home and seasonal. Many items are local handmade making each piece even more special. Lemon is own and ran by a local wife and mother of 3, Sara Weymouth. They even have gift wrapping to make all the holiday shopping easy.

Matt Stone is an automotive freelance journalist, author, broadcaster, Automotive Event Emcee, book author, and former Editor, Motor Trend Classic magazine. He has been a full time professional AUTOMOTIVE JOURNALIST / photographer since 1990 and has authored and photographed more than a dozen automotive book titles with more in process, and has been published in dozens of magazines worldwide.
Matt enjoys anything with four wheels, though demonstrates a particular passion for sports, performance, and sports racing cars. He’s a Chief Class Judge at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, a judge at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, and officiates and emcees at other first tier shows and events. He serves his profession as a past Officer and Board of Director member, and past-President of the Motor Press Guild (MPG) trade association.

Zealot Cycleworks Lounge Opens in Danville

Zealot Cycleworks, formerly CyTECHS Bike Service Specialists, reopened in a new spot above Forward Motion Sports on Hartz Ave in Danville. In addition to bike fitting and other services they feature bicycles from Evil Bike Company and Factor Bikes. Interestingly, as can be seen on their door they also offer beer and alcohol service in their lounge area! How cool is that?! Check out their bike services here and fit studio services here.

Tai Williams is the proprietor of Zealot Cycleworks. He’s an engineer and former executive of medical start-ups who chose to pursue his passion for bicycles and fanaticism with mechanical precision.

The company began in 2016 as CyTECHS, a mobile bike service business that offered precision bike maintenance and specialized services that included custom wheel builds and application of InvisiFrame’s bicycle frame protection kits (the only authorized fitter in the United States).

Progress on Chase Bank in Lafayette

A few years ago we learned about a new Chase banking center coming to the empty lot across from Diablo Foods in Lafayette and as you can see progress is being made. I like how large those windows are, will get plenty of light!

Get ready for another poke restaurant coming to Walnut Creek. According to the latest leasing information a restaurant called Poke Bar is planning to open where Inge’s Footwear used to be. Is this where the frozen yogurt place Red Mango used to be several years ago? Although it’s not clear exactly which Poke Bar will be opening, check out this menu from a Poke Bar which offer franchises. Stay tuned…

Monica + Andy Coming Soon Signage Up – Opening very soon in Broadway Plaza

A couple of weeks ago we learned that the baby and children’s clothing store Monica + Andy would be coming to Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek and as you can see in the above photo the Coming Soon signage is up with an expected opening timeframe of “Holiday 2017”. Considering it’s almost December this means they are hurrying to open ASAP for the all-important holiday shopping season.

Cost Plus World Market Relocates to Veranda Shopping Center in Concord

The Veranda, Concord

If the Willows Shopping Center were a person how do you think they would feel that Cost Plus World Market left them for The Veranda, a new shopping center located right next door? Anyway, there are eclectic things to be found at Cost Plus which makes for fun browsing. I ended up buying a chocolate video game controller made in Germany of all things! The smile on my son’s face made it a worthwhile purchase. (It tasted pretty good, too) 🙂
