Join us for an enjoyable afternoon of art activities and learn how to make your own mustard. Complimentary refreshments will be served, including beer tasting from Walnut Creek-based Calicraft Brewing. The entire family can hang out, see Ned Kahn’s Seed Vortex exhibition, enjoy refreshments, and make something cool!
Art activities for all ages: Make a fun multi-media artwork with mustard seeds and explore the convergence of art and science with Spirograph drawings.
Mustard making: Learn how to make your own mustard from Chef Jacob Croom (Tartine Manufactory, Kronnerburger, Salesforce) and Baker Jaren Wilkinson (Tartine Manufactory & Bakery, Pain Bakery). There will be drop-in stations to mix your own mustard to take home. The mustard-making process takes approximately 20
minutes and will be happening through the length of the event while supplies last.

Starbucks Temporarily Closes on Hartz Ave in Danville for Starbucks Reserve Remodel

Intuitive Writing Project Closes in Orinda Theatre Square

The Intuitive Writing Project, an an educational writing program for girls which opened a few years ago in Orinda Theatre Square has closed. According to the owner they are temporarily operating out in Moraga but “it’s possible that we will always be mobile, as this will allow us to serve girls throughout the Bay Area, from San Ramon to Marin and from Oakland to SF.” Check for updates on their website here.

Frujuice coming to Sunvalley mall in Concord

San Jose-based Frujuice is opening in a permanent spot on the second floor of the Sunvalley shopping center in Concord. Check out their menu (towards the bottom) here. I look forward to trying the Juicy Spicy Papaya dish/drink!

Friday Question of the Day – Favorite Day Trip Excursions?

Recently I drove down to Monterey Bay Aquarium. It had been a few years since the last time I visited and I enjoyed seeing familiar animals such as jellyfish, sea otters, sharks, sardines, anchovies and of course the kelp forest. Seeing my son interact with the animals made it even more special. What is your favorite day trip excursion?
