Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
Thanks to a reader for pointing out that GODIVA, which opened over four years ago at Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek, is closing by Valentine’s Day, along with all other physical locations in North America. I’ll miss their soft-serve ice cream. 🍦

Over three years ago the online thrift store ThredUp opened at Broadway Pointe in downtown Walnut Creek. Less than a year later, they relocated a few blocks away to a smaller spot on N. Main. As you can see from the lease sign in the above photo, they have permanently closed. Their online shop remains open here.

Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
In August, we learned that Neiman Marcus, which opened to much fanfare over eight years ago at Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek, was expected to close, and that time has come as they are now permanently closed. I’m going to miss those popovers but their San Francisco and Palo Alto locations remain open as noted in the sign below.

At the Broadway Plaza escalators in Walnut Creek are signs that say, “WAIT FOR SHOPPERS TO PASS THE BLUE LINE”. I must be missing something completely obvious because I don’t get it. How does waiting for people to pass the blue line help, considering there is no other line to wait from?
