Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
It’s been over a year since we learned that Apple would be relocating across the street in Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek and they’ll finally be opening on July 28th at 10am according to the Apple Walnut Creek web page. Note there will be plenty of floor to ceiling windows surrounding the building; it’s just papered over in these photos. Also, the open space behind the store where Starbucks, Lacoste/Tesla and Lucky Jeans used to be is huge! New benches surround the fountain and new paver stones have been placed throughout this section of the plaza. This is going to be a great place to stroll around.

2:00 – 8:00pm | FreeThe City of Concord hosts the inaugural Bliss Music Festival in downtown Concord on July 21st with two stages of original live music plus a silent disco, flow arts, craft beer and more.
A culmination of Concord’s 30th anniversary of music in the downtown and a nod to Concord’s musical history with the likes of Dave Brubeck, Concord Music Records and other progressive pioneers in the music industry, Bliss Music Festival serves as a platform and celebration of diverse genres of solely original music, featuring an eclectic array of the Bay’s burgeoning artists on the leading edge of today’s music scene.
With the main stage at Todos Santos Plaza dedicated to electric music and the adjacent Salvio Pacheco Square serving as the backdrop for acoustic music, the entire downtown will be transformed into a haven of art and music.

The Chinese restaurant Wonderland, which opened last year in Danville, is closing within the next few weeks. Their San Francisco location will remain open and stay tuned for a new Chinese restaurant called Nanking Bistro that will be opening here….
Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
At the beginning of the year we learned that a Peloton cycling showroom would be coming to Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek and they have now opened, this being their third Bay Area location. For about $2,000 you get a stationary bike and for about $40/month you get access to on-demand and live classes. I took a test ride and was impressed with both the bike (smooth!) and the classes displayed on a giant tablet. There are plenty of class styles and times to fit one’s schedule and goals. Check out their schedule here. The bike/service also tracks performance metrics which can be used to compare to others if desired. According to someone I spoke they’re also planning on introducing a treadmill in a couple of months which will also be available at this showroom. Check out their website here.
