La Fiesta Square, Lafayette
Thanks to a reader for pointing out that Skin Soup opened recently at La Fiesta Square in Lafayette, behind Sugi.
From their website:
Skin Soup was inspired by the idea & concept of blending apothecary & spa, providing remedies and treatments that transform the skin and body, creating ingredients for wellness. We combine exclusive professional grade products, carefully chosen to treat from outside in, with corrective treatments that treat from the inside out.

Daon Authentic Korean Cuisine opened recently in the Danville Town & Country Shopping Center where Fish on Fire used to be. According to a reader this is the only Korean restaurant in Danville and they have Korean fried chicken.

The times right now are not looking very good given the havoc brought by the respiratory disease coronavirus as countries scramble to protect their citizens and economies from being destroyed. Even Contra Costa has not been spared as three people, who were infected outside the county, were brought to hospitals for treatment. The practice these local hospitals are getting should prove helpful when more cases are found and treatment sought. Will schools be closed? Will people be told to work from home? How worried are you about coronoavirus? As I rode a packed BART train today I thought to myself, if just one person had the disease, how many of us would become infected? What, if anything, are you doing to prepare for the impending pandemic?

N. Main St. & Cypress St, Walnut Creek
Last September we learned that N. Main St. near Cypress St. in downtown Walnut Creek would be getting a mini plaza with an expanded sidewalk and it has now opened. As you can see there are more benches and a play area but alas, the pomegranate tree is gone!

The Shops at Todos Santos, Concord
In December we learned that Yum Squared Thai Cuisine would be coming to The Shops at Todos Santos in Concord where Woung Luang Thai Cuisine used to be and they have now opened. Based on that cool looking front entry maybe it should be called Yum Half-Circled?

Considering the warning coming from the CDC yesterday about preparing for the coming coronavirus pandemic I was disturbed to learn that Contra Costa Health Services reported the same day that three coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Contra Costa county. Despite coming from people outside the county who are being treated in local hospitals does not make me feel much better because it’s just a matter of time before it spreads to more and more people.

1373 Locust St, Walnut Creek
Hook’d Gym is coming to downtown Walnut Creek where GamedayVR used to be. Stay tuned…
