Orinda Theatre Square
Anytime Fitness, which we learned would be coming to Orinda Theatre Square last summer, is finally opening this week. Find out more about the membership here and coaching and training services here.
Main Street Plaza, Walnut Creek
A couple of YogaWorks pop up studios, one for yoga in Main Street Plaza and one for Pilates in Plaza Escuela, are now open until summer when their new gym will open in Main Street Plaza where Tuesday Morning used to be. Note that the new gym will only use part of the Tuesday Morning space, not all of it.

Thanks to a reader for pointing out that Just Be Yoga, currently located behind the gift shop Wish on Boulevard Circle in Walnut Creek, will be relocating to downtown Walnut Creek where Diane’s Beachwear used to be. Check for updates on their Instagram page here. Their schedule can be found here.

Alamo Plaza

Moraga Shopping Center
Bay Area Ballplayers, a new batting cage and sports training center, opened last month in the Moraga shopping center right near Loard’s Ice Cream. Check out their services here. Owner Steve Hammond was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2005 (6th Round), traded to SF Giants AAA in 2008 and played in Japan, Taiwan, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and Mexico. The kickboxing gym iLoveKickboxing is opening a new studio at Danville Square this spring. They opened last summer in the Avalon apartment complex near the Pleasant Hill BART station in Walnut Creek (same franchise owner). Iron Horse Plaza, Danville
According to the latest leasing information the gym Orangetheory Fitness is coming to Iron Horse Plaza next to Homegrown Sustainable Sandwiches in Danville. Learn more about their heart rate-based workout routine here.
2640 Shadelands Dr, Walnut Creek
In 2016 the basketball center Ultimate Fieldhouse opened in the Walnut Creek Shadelands area and the next phase, called Shadelands SportsMall, is progressing as you can see in these photos. This massive 215,000 sq sf training center will feature nine additional sports programs and a juicery.

Phase II will be anchored by the 105,000 sq ft COPA Soccer Training Center, a high-tech facility featuring indoor turf and futsal fields and a 10,000 sq ft fitness and performance center home to Speed Lab and Copa Fit. Encore Gymnastics & Dance, American Swim Academy, Mike Murphy Baseball, Vibe Volleyball, Sparta Taekwondo, and Raga Yoga will round out Phase II, along with the inaugural location of Genius Juicery, a purveyor of delicious, performance-focused juices made in-house.
