Sunvalley Shopping Center, Concord
Last week we learned that the clothing store Kit and Ace would be closing their physical stores in the US to focus online and now another clothing store, Bebe, is doing the same. As you can see in the above photo, Bebe is closing their Sunvalley shopping center location in Concord. According to this LA Times article, Bebe is closing their stores to focus on online sales as well.
It’s hard to be a brick and mortar store in the online world we live in these days. How can you compete when there is greater selection and cheaper prices online? On the other hand, it’s great to be able to try on clothing before buying. I know some people buy different sizes, colors and styles to find the right one and return the rest but I never felt comfortable doing that. What do you think?

The LA street food style restaurant 310 Eatery is back. They’re B~A~C~K, with a possibly record-breaking third relocation within downtown Walnut Creek. They first opened over 3 years ago where Ramen Hiroshi is now on Bonanza St, later relocating to Redux Lounge on Locust St. followed by a popup relocation inside Library on Main on N. Main St. Now they are set to return to where Redux Lounge used to be, only without Redux Lounge this time around.

Walk starting location is at the corner of Salvio Street and Grant Street, outside of E.J. Phair Brewing Company – Concord Alehouse. At registration, you will receive a tasting glass, a hand stamp, and a map of participating locations and businesses. All locations are marked with balloons.

Downtown Walnut Creek is getting its third boba tea shop as iTea is planning to open sometime this week, possibly as early as Tuesday. A couple of blocks away are the other two, Chalogy and Mr. Green Bubble. Note the tea kettles in the bottom photo, which should make for fresh tasting boba tea made with loose-leaf tea. I look forward to trying this place out! They will be open until 11:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 9:30pm every other day. According to this menu, you can adjust both the sweetness and ice cubes 0%, 30%, 50%, 80% and standard. I will try 0% sweetness, 30% ice cubes, with sweetness provided by popping boba. Is there any reason not to get 30% ice cubes? Otherwise it’s like paying for ice with a little bit of drink. I hate drinks filled to the brim with ice!
