Huzzah! Canyon Club Brewery Opening in Moraga this Summer

Amazing news as sleepy Moraga of all places is getting a new brewery / restaurant called Canyon Club Brewery. Located in a former bank sharing an ample parking lot with Orchard Supply Hardware near the intersection of Moraga Way and Moraga Rd, it’s expected to open later this summer. The triangular modern architecture with plenty of outdoor space will be a fabulous showcase for what could prove to become a destination spot bringing in not only locals but others from around Lamorinda and beyond. In addition to a restaurant and on-site brewery, stay tuned for more exciting details to come!

Makers Market Relocates within Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek

Makers Market, featuring American-made, handcrafted goods has relocated from their Broadway Plaza spot across from Nordstrom a few short hops away next to the Tesla showroom. Their new spot where Kit and Ace used to be, is huge and really shows off their offerings comfortably. Browse their online selection here.

On February 24th they’re having a grand opening event to “come sip, eat, create, hang out with makers, and learn about our mission to Rebuild the Legacy of American Made.” Don’t forget you can get “20% off the purchase of a single product for our Facebook followers, with mention of this promotion.”

Another upcoming event takes place March 10th with their outdoor craft fair taking place in the plaza in front of True Food Kitchen and Starbucks. From the event page:

Isshin Japanese Restaurant is opening very soon with a “new chef & menu” in Walnut Creek where Kama Sushi used to be. This will be the third Japanese restaurant in this location in the past four years. Before Kama Sushi it used to be Mika’s Japanese Cuisine.

Over the weekend Colorado-based spavia opened their first spa in the Downtown Pleasant Hill shopping center. Check out the Pleasant Hill services including pricing here. In addition to per-treatment payment options they also various memberships for with better pricing here. I checked out the inside and they have nice women’s (and men’s) rest lounges offering tea and heated neck towels. Showers are available as well. Looks very relaxing! The owners have plenty of spa experience and were very nice and welcoming. Check it out if you’re in the area.

Kick N Mule planning on opening in Danville

A couple of years ago Sweetwater Tavern opened on Hartz Ave. in Danville where Danville Station Firehouse Bar & Grill used to be and now, according to a recent California ABC pending permit Kick N Mule, a Sacramento-based sports bar is planning on opening in this spot, although the sale hasn’t been finalized yet according to a Sweetwater employee. Last year Coach closed in Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek shortly before purchasing Kate Spade for $2.4 billion and now Kate Spade has closed there as well.
