398 Hartz Ave, Danville
Starbucks Reserve, offering a more “more intimate small-lot coffee experience” has reopened in an expanded location where Consignit Couture used to be on Hartz Ave. in Danville. According to their Instagram page this is the first East Bay Starbucks Reserve with a Walnut Creek location expected to open in the future. Check out their menu (from a photo I took over the weekend) here.
1414 N. Main St, Walnut Creek
Consignit Couture, the consignment boutique which closed in Danville over the summer, is closing their remaining Walnut Creek location by July 1st. It looks like online buying trends as well as increased competition from stores such as ThredUp proved too much for this independent shop.

11:00am – 3:00pm | $10This year’s Spring Eggstravaganza will feature egg hunts, carnival rides, games, live entertainment, food trucks and the highly anticipated annual Rib Cook-Off between SF Rec and Park, SF Fire, SF Police and other city departments! Sorry, no pets are allowed into this event.
I was at the Walnut Creek Orchards Safeway the other day when I spotted Fox’s U-Bet chocolate syrup being sold. As an egg cream lover I use U-Bet syrup from my NYC trips but wasn’t able to find it sold around here… until now. For the recipe and history of the New York egg cream check out this informational page. Most people don’t realize there are neither eggs nor cream in egg creams. Just milk, seltzer and U-Bet chocolate syrup. Yum!
Any egg cream fans out here?
Now that it’s springtime and getting warmer out I’m tempted to take out the bike for a ride. Where is your favorite place for a bike ride?

This year’s event includes films from the informative to the poetic. Some will educate about historic figures and local organizations; others will be emotionally moving visual tapestries. This year’s largest categories of entry were surprisingly Adults and Elementary School Students. While filmmaker eligibility was expanded this year to include Lamorinda’s neighbors in Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Martinez, and Concord, the majority of entries still represent the Lamorinda Community.
