Sugaria Beauty, a salon in San Francisco, opened a second location in downtown Walnut Creek a few months ago. Interestingly, they offer hair removal services that uses sugar! I’ve heard of waxes and lasers for hair removal but never knew it could be done with sugar.
From their website:
Sugaring is a unique and natural way to remove hair. It is made from food-derived ingredients, and is natural. Yes, you can even eat it!! No animal tests were used in developing and producing the product.

Earlier this year Portland-based unisex hair care shop Bishops Cuts & Color opened in downtown Walnut Creek and they are also going to be opening in Danville Square where Trader Joe’s is located. A Pleasanton location is also opening very soon as well. Check out their services here and catch updates on their Danville Facebook page here.
From their website:
The salon was founded by Vanessa Schneider, a Miramonte High School parent. Familiarity with the area and love of the Moraga-Orinda community gave her the inspiration and strength to open Olivia Nail Bar. This upscale nail salon will bring friends, neighbors, and families together to pamper themselves, de-stress from the day, and spend quality time with each other.
