San Francisco-based Beep’s Burgers opened recently in Blackhawk Plaza in Danville with a limited menu compared to their San Francisco location (check out the menu below). I think I may need to try their root beer float for comparison sake…

Thanks to a reader for pointing out that an intriguing new coffee and tea cafe called Bondadoso Coffee & Tea is opening in Walnut Creek where Mi Casa used to be. As you can see, the orange/yellow paint is no more. Stay tuned…

Orchards Shopping Center, Walnut Creek
Earlier this month we learned that Pancheros Mexican Grill closed in the Orchards shopping center in Walnut Creek with the possibility of an Indian restaurant opening in its place and that turns out to be exactly the case as Patra Indian Grill is coming soon to this location. Thanks to a reader for sending the photo above.
Park ‘N’ Shop, Concord
A new poke restaurant called Fresh Box Poke is coming to the Park ‘N’ Shop in Concord all the way at the far end on the side near Mimi’s Cafe. A sign about this restaurant was posted on the window of the nearby restaurant STEAMBOAT so it may be related. Stay tuned…

Philz Coffee in downtown Walnut Creek is having a soft opening party this Thursday, August 24th with free coffee and pastries available from 11am – 3pm. Now that high-end women’s consignment boutique Consignit Couture has closed in Danville to focus on their Walnut Creek location, Starbucks will be expanding their next door Hartz Ave. location.

It’s been a couple of years since we learned that Take One Pizza would be coming to downtown Walnut Creek next to the Century movie theater and since then quite a lot has changed in the neighborhood as Slice House opened and Pizza My Heart opened in place of Project Pie. Check out their menu here.
