Back in June I noted that beauty retailer ULTA Beauty was coming to the Willows Shopping Center in Concord and it’s progressing nicely as you can see in the photo above. A sign on the fence indicates a fall opening.

Story poles have been placed recently at the Moraga Town Center Homes project next to the Moraga fire station on Moraga Way to show how tall the units will be. This project has been revised for 36 units, of which 21 will be 2.5 story townhomes with the remaining 15 units planned for 2 story cottage duplexes. Check out this Lamorinda Weekly article noting the various problems placing homes next to a fire department training area.

With the sad news this week that Robin Williams committed suicide I’ve been thinking about all the great movies he’s acted in. I first enjoyed watching Mork & Mindy on TV as a kid, and later watched some great movies he did such as Moscow on the Hudson, Good Morning, Vietnam, Dead Poets Society, The Fisher King, Mrs. Doubtfire and Good Will Hunting. What is your favorite Robin Williams film?

As if there were not enough ice cream options (San Francisco Creamery, Gelataria Naia, Lottie’s Creamery, CREAM) in downtown Walnut Creek, Kara’s Cupcakes is featuring ice cream cupcakes to entice people this summer. Anyone had a chance to try this? What’s the best combo?
Spotted in downtown Orinda at the roundabout at Moraga Way and Bryant Way near Orinda Theatre Square. The plaque says: Bryant Station Site which was the “terminus of the California and Nevada railroad”. It was named after San Francisco mayor Andrew J. Bryant, who “owned a large farm in Orinda Park”.
