This week we learned that yet another pizza restaurant, Boca Pizzeria, would be opening in downtown Walnut Creek and a commenter suggested a reader poll about what restaurant/bar/cafe etc. you would like to see in downtown Walnut Creek.
I am so hoping someone realizes that what WC needs is not another version of something that already exists once (or twice or three times) already, but something else. Something that won’t disappear when trends change in a year or two. I would love to see a proper Irish pub, where folks can hang out, eat, drink, maybe listen to some live music, and generally stop stressin’ about the world.
If you had your pick what you most like to see? An Irish pub? Burmese restaurant? Tea house?

2:00pm – 7:00pm | FreeOne-day-only Fundraiser for the Tibet Oral History Project, a noble effort of documenting the stories of Tibet.
My dear friend, Dr. Marcy Adamski is creating the only oral history of Tibet. She is traveling the world, with the encouragement of the Dalai Lama to compile interviews with Tibetan elders before they all pass and this history disappears. The volumes of transcription are destined for the Library of Congress. Thousands of interviews have already been completed. The trip to Nepal is very important for this effort. The elders will not be with us much longer so time is of the essence. Please join us and hear about this project. Make a purchase to help fund the trip. 100% of all purchase of artwork shown for this exclusive engagement on March 14th will be used to travel to Tibet with a film crew and assistants. Thank you very much for your support. Bring friends!!

For those following progress on the giant window that has been added to Macy’s during the Broadway Plaza renovation, the giant Believe poster has finally been removed to reveal the window. Interestingly, based on the previously featured rendering, it looks like only nine panes will be transparent.
