For the last few years we’ve been following the progress of the Towne Center condominiums in downtown Lafayette next to the BART station and as you can see in the above photo it looks basically finished. According to the website it’s priced from $949,000 – $1,188,252. Check out the nine floor plans here.

Robert Dekkers new ballet, Red Shoes, is an imaginative interpretation of Hans Christian Andersen’s timeless fairy tale. Set to the thrilling score by Academy Award nominated composer Philip Glass, the ballet explores the birth, evolution, and ultimate demise of the ego. Red Shoes will feature costumes designed by celebrity fashion designer, Cassidy Haley, who has created for P!nk and Fergie to name a few.
Crossroads of Danville
Thanks to a reader for sending word… The Filipino restaurant Sig’s Little Kitchen soft opened at the Crossroads of Danville shopping center on San Ramon Valley Blvd. Check out the menu in the photo below. I look forward to trying this place out!

Late last year we learned that an adult day care center would be opening in downtown Walnut Creek where Baja Fresh used to be, next to the Habit Burger Grill. It turns out it’s not an adult day care center at all but rather the Trinity Center for the homeless and working poor, which relocated a few blocks away. Note that they are closed on weekends.

FreeThe festivities include a Chinese lion dance, Asian art exhibits, Bollywood dancing, Japanese animated films, Henna hand painting, martial arts demonstrations and Chinese acrobats.
The Festival’s international fashion show will include an appearance by Miss Vietnam California, as well as men and women dressed in the traditional dress of Japan, China, Korea, the Philippines, India and several other Asian countries.
Asian-American book authors will discuss their books and sign copies for fans. There is a presentation by an expert on travelling in Asia who will provide tips on planning a getaway to far-off places.
Avalon, Walnut Creek
After quite a wait the bar Hops & Scotch has opened in the Avalon apartment complex next to the Pleasant Hill BART station in Walnut Creek. In addition to 150 types of whiskey, cocktails and wine they also carry 40+ rotating beer taps. If you look closely at the photo below you can see the taps. The bottom photo shows the lcd screen featuring the available craft brews. They also offer small plates and have several TVs to catch the latest game. Find out more about the bar on their website here. They are open from 11am – 11pm.
