Rheem Valley Shopping Center
Thanks to a reader for sending word that Taco Bell has finally opened at the Rheem Valley shopping center in Moraga. When I checked it out both the drive-thru and inside area were quite packed. In addition to the regular counter ordering they also have kiosks where you can order as well which is convenient.
It’s that time of year again with summer approaching, wondering what is on people’s summer reading list. I plan on reading Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari and more Harry Potter.
The iconic clock in front of the former Rinehart jewelry store on N. Main St. in downtown Walnut Creek has been updated yet again. The clock originally was labeled JEWELRY as seen in this photo. In 2015 it was changed to the GELATO clock to advertise a gelato store and for a short time in 2017 it was updated yet again to become the IKOI SUSHI clock before changing back to the GELATO clock in white making it much less visible. Recently I noticed it has been changed to the Rinehart’s clock, presumably in memory of the original Rinehart store. Although a noble idea I think changing it back to the original JEWELRY text and font would be more appropriate.

Baygreens Salads, opened since only last December in downtown Walnut Creek has closed. An employee inside told me they were permanently closed which his unfortunate since they had really tasty fresh juice drinks but this is a tough location since it’s recessed into the building making it less visible. Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
The beauty supply store Sephora temporarily closed their existing Broadway Plaza location in Walnut Creek and will be reopening this Friday, June 7th around the corner where Makers Market used to be. Four years ago Sephora got a facelift at this location so I wonder what changes are in store.
