A new rental development called The Landing is breaking ground in downtown Walnut Creek near the BART station. Check out the renderings below; the website is here.

From a press release:

“The project, called The Landing, at 1800 Lacassie Avenue, consists of 178 studio and one- and two-bedroom apartments wrapped in contemporary styling and capped off with multiple rooftop decks with Mt. Diablo views. Amenities include a sky-deck yoga studio, roof-top garden, an outdoor movie theater, outdoor barbecue and dining area, indoor-outdoor fire pit lounge, and resort pool and cabanas.

The Landing also plans to be pet-friendly. A pet spa will provide private grooming facilities for residents’ four-legged companions.

Inside, The Landing’s 35 studio, 110 one-bedroom and 33 two-bedroom units will feature quartz countertops, designer cabinetry, mosaic backsplash, high-end stainless steel appliance packages, in some cases with wine fridges, plus plank-style floorings throughout and walk-in closets.”

1500 North California Blvd, Walnut Creek

Although the view from over a year ago may make it seem that not much has been done to the 1500 N. California apartment complex in downtown Walnut Creek, now called Lyric Walnut Creek, but if you peek over the fence you can see that plenty of digging for the underground parking garage and other work has been done. The “coming summer 2016” signage is now up.

This is a sweet spot to live right in the heart of downtown Walnut Creek, a block from the Lesher Center, walking distance to BART, Century movie theater, and Target although Safeway is quite a walk away.

1500 Mt. Diablo Blvd, Walnut Creek

Significant progress is being made on the 1500 Mt. Diablo building at the corner of Mt. Diablo Blvd. and Main St. in downtown Walnut Creek as the scaffolding has been removed revealing the cool design that we saw in the renderings over two years ago. The corner entrance will be home to the clothing store Vineyard Vines while the second floor restaurant will have Barcelona-based Telefèric with the top floor occupied by ROOFTOP. Check out updates on ROOFTOP’s Facebook page here.

1960 North Main St, Walnut Creek

In April we saw the continuing progress of the new apartment complex Ascent Walnut Creek, located across the street from Target at the corner of  Ygnacio Valley Rd. and N. Main St. and they are now leasing. Third and fourth floor apartments are expected to be available in the beginning of September, the second floor apartments towards the end of September and first floor apartments at the beginning of October. Studio/Urban 1 bedrooms begin at $2,200, 1 bedrooms start at $2,550, and 2 bedrooms start at $3,427. I imagine the lower priced apartments will be located near the gas station which you can see in the above photo at left. Check out their website which explains the amenities here.
