Friday, October 30th – Sunday, November 15th, 2015A side-splitting send-up of greed, love, revolution (and musicals!), in a time when water is worth its weight in gold. Hilariously funny and touchingly honest, Urinetown provides a fresh perspective of one of America’s greatest art forms.
In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought (and you thought we had it bad!), has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides he’s had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!
La Fiesta Square, Lafayette
In September we learned that Caroline’s Salon would be relocating next to Chow within La Fiesta Square in Lafayette and they are now open. Check out their services here.
I used to love eating oysters. That is until I learned last month that they, “appear to be an important link in the transmission of norovirus among humans”. I haven’t eaten one since. Three days ago I learned that one of my favorite foods, the humble hot dog, increases one’s risk for cancer. Even a healthy snack like seaweed of all things may cause cancer, as I posted about yesterday.
Do I just throw caution to the wind and ignore these warnings or make a conscientious effort to avoid certain foods? I think I should quit oysters for good, cut down on hot dogs and red meat slightly and ignore the warnings for seaweed. Do all these food warnings concern you? Does it affect what you eat?
