370 Hartz Ave, Danville
A new ice cream / frozen yogurt shop that we learned would be opening on Hartz Ave. in Danville called Bloogrape Organic Sworls has now opened. In addition to ice cream and frozen yogurt they have an additional base option call “vegan coconut base”, available in plain or chocolate that sounds intriguing. Check out their menu here and here. Their website is here.
1387 N. Main St, Walnut Creek
The clothing store Atlas & Athena is relocating a few blocks from their current Botelho Dr. location in downtown Walnut Creek to a spot on N. Main St. where jeu de jupe used to be and interestingly, across the street from where Atlas was originally located several years ago. Check out their website here and check back for updates on their grand opening dates and events.

$20An improvised evening of your favorite TV show!
Get ready to binge watch your “favorite” TV sitcom with Synergy Theater! The folks who brought you Spontaneous Shakespeare! and The Improvised Adventures of Sherlock Holmes! are ready for a night on the couch. Audience members suggest the title, location and characters, and Synergy Theater creates a full evening of back to back episodes of the funniest, old sitcom you’ve never seen. Remember the pilot? Remember the cliffhanger? Remember that “very special episode”? Of course, not! They’re making it up!
Enjoy the last weekend of free parking at the Broadway Plaza parking garage in downtown Walnut Creek. There is a silver lining however. Beginning Monday, January 9th you’ll now get the first three hours free, without validation. This is really great news. Two hours is cutting it close but I could get a bite to eat and shop a bit in three hours. Nice!
From the Broadway Plaza website:
We have made an important change: The first three hours will be free – rather than the first two hours as originally planned, with no validation required. We have decided to make this change in response to the consistent, thoughtfully-presented requests from many Walnut Creek residents to expand the window of free parking once the program
starts.
With the new year comes the new year’s resolutions. I haven’t given much thought to specific resolutions but I’d like to run more. What is your New Year’s resolution?
Ygnacio Plaza, Walnut Creek
In October we learned that the Taiwanese-based T4 boba tea cafe would be opening in Ygnacio Plaza in Walnut Creek and the signage is now up so the opening shouldn’t far off. I wonder if they’ll have any popping boba? Check for updates on their Facebook page here.
