Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
APEX by Sunglass Hut opened in the initial phase (late 2015) of the Broadway Plaza redevelopment next to Macy’s and they are going to become a Ray-Ban store. Both brands are owned by the Italian eyewear company Luxottica, and APEX also carried Ray-Ban.

Salvio Pacheco Square, Concord
A new Asian fusion restaurant called Fusion Bistro is opening soon in Salvio Pacheco Square across from Todos Santos Plaza in Concord. This corner sport has been empty for as long as I remember so it’s good to finally see something opening up there. As you can see from the inside photo it looks finished to me. A new fitness gym called Just 40 Fitness is coming to the Concord shopping center where Buffalo Wild Wings is located on Diamond Blvd. across the street from where the new Veranda shopping center will be. They will also be opening in Pleasant Hill next to T.J. Maxx.

Back in April we learned about a new restaurant from the owners of Tonli Dumpling House food truck called Tonli Kitchen would be coming to Avalon apartment complex across from the Pleasant Hill BART station. Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
Last year the San Francisco-based, Paris-inspired clothing store Les Lunes opened in Broadway Plaza next to the fountain and they recently relocated to a much larger spot where Kit and Ace used to be. Check out their collection here.

This year also marks the 50th anniversary of “The Summer of Love”. This 40/50 milestone is sure to draw a lot of attention to the cultural and historical contributions that were developed The Haight and went on to influence a generation.
1411 Locust St, Walnut Creek
The burger joint featuring LA and Oaktown style street food 310 Eatery has been open for a few weeks now in their previous Redux Lounge location on Locust St. in downtown Walnut Creek and their craft-draft partner Urban Alley is expected to open a bar inside within the next few weeks. In addition to a full liquor bar featuring craft cocktails from the mixologist at Oakland’s A16, they also plan on rolling out an indoor beer garden featuring plenty of drafts. I look forward to having a burger with a cold beer here soon!
