Thanks to a reader for sending word that Lou & Grey will be closing late January at Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek. Look for SoCal-based men’s clothing store TravisMathew to take over this spot.

3645 Mt. Diablo Blvd, Lafayette
Papyrus closed the other day in the Lafayette shopping center near Trader Joe’s, and next to possibly the longest store closing I have ever witnessed, (since 2017), Whippersnappers. The Broadway Plaza location in Walnut Creek remains open.

The highly anticipated restaurant, Social Bird, from the owners of Esin and Revel in Danville, opened this weekend in the former Yankee Pier space at the Lafayette Mercantile shopping plaza. Check out the menu here. As you can see from the photos below, they offer oysters, beer on tap and have a spacious wrap-around bar with plenty of seating. I look forward to checking this place out!
