Civic Park, Walnut Creek
Over the weekend I saw the finishing touches being put on a new art mural at Civic Park in downtown Walnut Creek.

A new Chinese restaurant called Dynasty Bistro recently opened where China Village Restaurant used to be at Ygnacio Plaza in Walnut Creek. Check out their menu here.

The cafe Brioche de Paris opened recently in downtown Walnut Creek. They offer, “authentic French pastries, sandwiches, crepes, and artisan coffee”; the cafe was quite packed when I dropped by over the weekend, with plenty of seating and the great lighting. Check out their Instagram here.

theCoderSchool, which offers coding classes to children, opened recently in downtown Walnut Creek. Last year they opened in San Ramon.

Thanks to a reader for sending word that NYX Cosmetics, which opened a few years ago in Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek, has closed. I wonder whether this is due to the location or competition from Sephora?

Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
Peet’s Coffee is closing on October 7th within the Amazon store at Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek. It’s nice that the product selection will expand with this extra space but I sure will miss those large $2.15 muffins. 😞
