Years ago around town I noticed license plate holders with Future Hyundai of Concord and thought it was odd they would advertise a future dealership opening. I even drove by the future dealership wondering how long it would take for them to open. Eventually it dawned on me: the name of the dealership is Future Hyundai of Concord! I feel like such a dum dum! 😳

Nearly 45 years later, Golden Corral® is honored to be called America’s #1 buffet and grill.

The Shops at Todos Santos, Concord
Of all the restaurants coming to the new Shops at Todos Santos plaza in Concord it’s not surprising that Chipotle is making the most progress.
Thanks to a reader who emailed that they are planning to open mid-January.

The Vineyard, Concord
In April we learned that the cafe Bambu would be coming to the Vineyard shopping center in Concord and thanks to a reader for pointing out they have been closed for months now. Despite the “hope to see you again soon” sign on the door, judging by the emptiness inside I’m not getting my hopes up.

The Veranda, Concord
SoCal-based Silverlake Ramen opened recently at the Veranda shopping center in Concord. Seating is only available outside but the wraparound patio has quite a lot of sitting room. The Classic ramen I had with tonkotsu broth was better than expected. Check out their ramen selection here.

Salvio Pacheco Square, Concord
Thanks to a reader for sending word about a new restaurant called Leisure Dessert opening at Salvio Pacheco Square in Concord where Fusion Bistro used to be. Despite its name, it’s actually a restaurant that serves items besides dessert. Check out their menu on their Facebook page here.

The Veranda, Concord
Puesto Mexican Artisan Kitchen & Bar, which we learned would be coming to the Veranda shopping center in Concord, is opening early next week Sunday, November 11th right next to the IMAX theater. Check out their Santa Clara menu here.

Thanks to a reader for sending a photo of this sweet looking mural:
Spotted behind the plaza on Oak Grove & Treat with the Trader Joe’s (behind Peets).

The Veranda, Concord
Thanks to a reader for sending word that Ko Cups, a “Korean bbq place that serves in bowls/ cups that frequents food trucks and antique Fair in Alameda” is coming to the Veranda shopping center in Concord next to Poke Bowl. Check out their menu here.
From their website and menu:
We founded Ko-Cups in 2016 to bring delicious Korean offerings to the food fair and farmer’s market scenes. We believe in quality ingredients and that our food ultimately speaks for itself; there is no success without flavor. We are based in the San Francisco Bay Area and surrounding cities.
Ko-Cups start off with a base of aromatic rice, the best Japchae (Korean noodles) you’ve ever tasted, and some crunchy seasonal vegetables. Choose your protein, then we top it with one of our flavorful sauces: Sweet & Spicy Chili, Hot Gochujang, or Mayo Mustard — your pick!
