Participants- please bring your own favorite candy bag!

Begin your afternoon of fun at the Lesher Center for the Arts to pick up a map of participating businesses between 2pm-4:30pm. Children 10 & under must be accompanied by an adult.

Convenient parking available at the following city parking garages:

Kevin’s Noodle House Reopening this Sat. in Concord

The Vietnamese restaurant Kevin’s Noodle House that has been undergoing remodeling the past few months in the Park ‘N’ Shop center is reopening this Saturday, October 25th. “Free coffee/soda with any rice or noodle dish through 11-01-14”. Check out their menu here.

Just in time for Halloween–share the horror of dating while optimistically searching for your next date. Singles in their 20’s-40’s are invited to the Walnut Creek Library on Thursday, October 23rd for another round of Literary Speed Dating.

The event is free and aimed at adults in their 20’s through 40’s. Participants are asked to come ready to tell a condensed version of their favorite horror story– could be a book or a movie that gives you the willies OR a tale of your worst date ever. Each participant will be given a number as their identification upon sign-in on the evening of the event. Each date will last approximately 5 minutes before participants rotate to the next person. Who knows? Your next BEST date could be waiting for you!

Armed Robbery in Downtown Lafayette Near Chevalier Restaurant

From the Lafayette PD:

Lafayette Officers are currently responding for an armed robbery that occurred in the 900 block of Moraga Road. The suspect fled the scene in a Dark Blue Late Model Chevy or Ford SUV with no license plates. The vehicle was last seen EB on Moraga Boulevard from Moraga Road. The suspect is described as a Hispanic Male, 30 yrs, medium build, wearing a black shirt and khaki pants. Residents who have information about this incident are asked to contact Lafayette PD, 925-284-5010.

On Wednesday, October 22nd from 2-5pm, the Brrristas at Smitten Ice Cream – Lafayette will be serving up scoops to support Lafayette Partners in Education (LPIE). LPIE is a community-based education foundation run by parent volunteers working to enhance and expand the educational opportunities for students in Lafayette’s six public schools.

Tickets* = $5 for unlimited scoops of all flavors. Alll profits go directly to LPIE.

After a few years without a toy store, a new toy store called Learning Express Toys is opening in downtown Lafayette on November 21st where Traction Cycling used to be on Mt. Diablo Blvd. Learning Express Toys has locations nationwide with the nearest location in San Ramon.

The sign outside the soon-to-be-open Noah’s Bagels in downtown Walnut Creek where Blockbuster Video used to be on Mt. Diablo Blvd. says “open in 3 days” so it looks like it will be officially opening this Wednesday, October 22nd. Inside looks like a typical Noah’s Bagels with plenty of seating available.
