The wait is almost over as the Sacramento-based restaurant Dos Coyotes Border Cafe is set to open later this week in the Willows Shopping Center in Concord. They offer a variety of southwestern cuisine and also do catering. Check out their menu here and find out more about the backstory to the restaurant here. I was able to get a preview so check out photos of the inside (after the jump) to see what it’s like. As you can see in the photo below they offer plenty of seating as well as an outdoor dining area.
Earlier this year we learned that the popular Sacramento-based restaurant Dos Coyotes Border Cafe would be coming to Willows Shopping Center in Concord and as you can see their signage is now up and they’re hiring. Check out their menu here. Stay tuned…
The Sacramento-based restaurant, Dos Coyotes Border Cafe, featuring Southwestern cuisine, is set to open a new location in Concord according to this Sacramento Business Journal article. A photo from the City of Concord Instagram page indicates that it will be located right next to the restaurant Eureka! which opened last September. Check out their menu here. Stay tuned…
The first Dos Coyotes opened in The Marketplace in North Davis on January 5th, 1991. The menu was a little smaller than it is today. Our original tacos were – literally – two warm corn tortillas, tender, flame-broiled steak or chicken, onions, cilantro, a charbroiled cebollita green onion and whatever salsa you liked. Simple. Pure. Delicious.
One of the first big changes we made was adding “seasonal specials.” Our fixed menu was popular, but it didn’t give us the room to explore or opportunity to truly take advantage of the region’s incredibly flavorful, diverse produce. The seasonal specials changed all that. They gave head chef Mark Casale and I the freedom to experiment… to create new items and give customers a vibrant, evolving culinary experience.
In the 20 plus years since we opened that first restaurant, Dos Coyotes has grown, but the core principles haven’t changed – delicious food, engaging atmosphere, exceptional value. That’s why I started Dos Coyotes and why I go to work today. I love watching people walk through the door, enjoy our food and appreciate what we have to offer. That’s why we’re in business.
Earlier this week we learned that The Jungle would be closing in Willows Shopping Center in Concord but according to the owner of The Jungle they, “got short lease extension and working on long term lease“. So keep on having fun on the jungle gyms!
The indoor children’s play center The Jungle, with massive amounts of jungle gym structures throughout is closing sometime early next year in Willows Shopping Center in Concord, possibly this spring according to an employee I spoke with. Taking its place will be a giant Total Wine shop based on its 15,000 sf footprint. Stay tuned…
It’s that time again of See’s Candies popup stores sprouting all over the Bay Area. In the photo above you can see one See’s Candies popup in Willows Shopping Center in Concord but I’ve seen them almost anywhere I go these days. Is it my imagination or are there more of them this year? I love the butterscotch lollipops! What is your favorite?
We have been eagerly anticipating the opening of Palo Alto-based Rick’s Rather Rich Ice Cream in the Willows Shopping Center in Concord and they are now open. They have been around since 1956 and this is their only other location! With flavors like Computer Chip (chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips and a hint of orange flavor) I can see how they’re from Palo Alto. Check out their complete 48 flavor menu here. On Saturday, October 10th from 11am – 10pm they are having a special buy one-get one free deal for scoops and regular sundaes.
Last month we learned that the southern California-based restaurant Eureka! would be opening in the Willows Shopping Center in Concord on September 7th, and recently I was able to get a preview of the inside. They also have a Berkeley location and are planning on opening new spots on the Apple campus and in Mountain View in the South Bay. Check out their burger menu here and starters/salads/taco/signatures menu here. I’m looking forward to the bone marrow burger and butterscotch rum pudding! This location will also offer a brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays in addition to lunch and dinner. Check for updates on their Facebook page here. There will be 40 American craft beers on tap with 20 of them featured in a rotating selection. (Check out the closeup of the rotating beer list sign after the jump). The bar also has a huge whiskey and bourbon selection.
The inside looks amazing and feels quite spacious thanks to the huge vaulted ceiling and wide sliding doors making for a great inside/outside dining experience. Handcrafted wood from historic American barns, factories, and whiskey distilleries adds a warm element to the overall design. This is a great addition to the newly redeveloped Willows Shopping Center and I look forward to trying this place out soon!
