sewnow!, the fashion studio that offers classes, workshops and camps has recently moved from its Moraga Rd. location to 3534 Golden Gate Way (between Plaza Park and the library). From their website:

sewnow! offers fashion design and sewing classes, sewing camps, specialty workshops, open studio time, birthday parties, private sewing lessons, Brother sewing and embroidery machines, party hosting and a variety of other services.

As Seen on TV Opens in Broadway Plaza

As Seen on TV a new store focusing on TV infomercial products, has recently opened in Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek. They are located on the backside of the plaza, near Macy’s. As I am loyal Tivo user, I haven’t seen an infomercial in many years. Anything worthwhile checking out?

Progress on Anthropologie in Downtown Walnut Creek

Way back last December I noted that Anthropologie was “coming soon” to downtown Walnut Creek but since then progress on the construction was going at a snail’s pace for some reason. Now finally construction has picked up significantly with a new sign and framing being done. Hopefully this means it will be finished in time for a fall opening,

Unveiled Bridal Closing in Walnut Creek

Back in January I posted about the wedding goods store Unveiled Bridal on Cypress St. in downtown Walnut Creek and unfortunately they are closing their only store to focus exclusively on online sales. Their last day will be July 18th and you can see what kind of sales they are having below.

If you happen to have a wedding coming up drop by and you might be able to get a great deal on something. Otherwise you can always shop online here.

Red Wagon in Lafayette Closing this Week

Back in March I noted that Red Wagon, the children’s store in Lafayette was closing, and this is their final week in business. This Friday will be their last day. I peeked inside the window and didn’t really see anything for sale though, however the furniture and fixtures are also for sale.

Fashion Scuttlebutt – Men’s Clothing Store Opening Next to Papyrus in Walnut Creek

Back in March I noted that the empty storefront next to Papyrus in downtown Walnut Creek on North Main St. was eventually going to be combined with Papyrus to make way for a new restaurant, however today’s scuttlebutt is that it’s going to become a men’s clothing store. Given that location, near the Atlas men’s clothing store as well as other small fashion boutiques, this makes a lot of sense. I wonder what it’s going to be like.

Ming Quong in Walnut Creek Renews Lease

Ming Quong, the quaint Walnut Creek jewelry and gift shop that almost had to find new space back in March, has finally renewed their lease. It’s a five year lease, with the option to terminate within the first 18 months. Given that a new furniture store is opening soon right next door, things are looking promising for owners Jim and Nona Wyman.

Eco Shoppe Closing in Walnut Creek

The Eco Shoppe, part of the Vitamin Shoppe at the corner of Mt. Diablo Blvd. and Locust St. in downtown Walnut Creek is closing this week or next. Not much left but everything is 75% off so you might want to stop by if interested. Apparently a mattress store will be opening up in its place, and the Vitamin Shoppe will remain open on the corner.
