In April we learned that Sultan’s Kebab would be opening a new location in downtown Walnut Creek where Bombay used to be, and they have now opened. Check out their menu here.

In June, we learned that Bay Area-based Japanese gourmet rice balls (aka onigiri) restaurant ONIGILLY would be coming to downtown Walnut Creek with an expected August opening, but obviously that’s not happened yet. The “Coming Soon” signage is now up, so hopefully it’ll open this year. Check out their menu here.

Boba café Sinceretea, which opened a couple of years ago in downtown Walnut Creek, has closed. Their San Jose location remains open. I enjoyed their red velvet flavored egg puffs.

Burma Unique, which opened a couple of years ago in downtown Walnut Creek, has closed. You can still get Burmese food in downtown Walnut Creek a few blocks away at Burma 2.
