Last month we saw the progress on the California/Mexican/Spanish rancho-style restaurant Rancho Cantina in downtown Lafayette and according to their Facebook page they plan on opening in early March.

Looks like there are delays at the Japanese bistro Izakaya Jun in downtown Walnut Creek. The signage is up but there has been a Stop Work posting up for a while now…

Lots of progress at the pizza restaurant Project Pie that’s planning on opening in downtown Walnut Creek where AAA used to be. As you can see in the above photo there will be outdoor seating. The inside looks done so it shouldn’t be much longer… Check out their menu here.

The sign says, “closed for vacation” outside the Chinese restaurant Lily’s House in downtown Lafayette but apparently a new Chinese restaurant with new owners will be opening soon in this location when the remodel has finished. Stay tuned…
Blackhawk Plaza, Danville
Back in November we learned that Blackhawk Burger would be opening in Blackhawk Plaza next to the little playground in Danville and they have now opened. Check out part of their menu below. They also offer hot dogs, shakes, various fries, coleslaw and more.

Thanks to a reader for sending word that Kinder’s Deli has closed in the Town and Country Shopping Center in Danville. You’ll have to head out to Pleasanton for their nearest location.

A new Italian restaurant called Locanda Ravello is “opening soon” in Danville where the brunch spot Father Nature’s Hideaway used to be. According to Diablo Dish, they plan on opening this April.

Last December we learned that Yalla Mediterranean would be opening its second location in Ygnacio Plaza in Walnut Creek where Daphne’s used to be however the opening has been pushed back to mid March. Their first location in downtown Pleasant Hill opened last December. Check out their menu here.
