In December, we learned that chicken wing restaurant Wingstop would be coming to Newell Promenade in Walnut Creek, and they have now opened.

Horn Barbecue opened recently in Lafayette where All the Smoke BBQ used to be, which is where Bonehead’s Texas BBQ used to be, which in turn is where Bo’s Barbecue used to be. It’s impressive how many BBQ spots have been here — word must travel fast! Over the weekend, the mid-day line was huge, so this place must be doing something right. Check out their menu here.

Agora at South Main, Walnut Creek
Marvel Cake opened last week at Agora at South Main in Walnut Creek where Starbucks used to be. Check out their menu here. They are particularly known for their “spiral croissant” which is not yet available at their Walnut Creek location. One highlight for me is their selection of French tea from the esteemed French brand Mariage Frères. While they have no connection to Marvel characters, I can’t help but picture them offering Spiderman-themed cakes right before entering!

Plaza Escuela, Walnut Creek

1387 Locust St, Walnut Creek
After over eight years since Crogan’s Bar & Grill closed in downtown Walnut Creek, a new pub restaurant called Gibson’s Irish Pub has opened in its place, with full resaturant service beginning this Tuesday, January 14th. Check out their menu here, and live music performance calendar here. From the outside, the circular stained glass window looks pretty monochromatic, but as you can see from the photo below, from the inside it really pops, how cool!

Newell Square, Walnut Creek
South Korean bakery cafe Paris Baguette is coming to Newell Square in Walnut Creek where Hospice Thrift Shoppes used to be. Check out their menu here.

Gateway Centre, San Ramon
Desi Pizza is coming to Gateway Centre in San Ramon where Amrutha Vilas used to be (they are relocating right across the road in a similar building [see below]).
