Friday Question of the Day – Will Apple Relocate to Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek?

It’s been known for a while now that California Pizza Kitchen would be relocating from their Broadway Plaza location around the corner and in fact the few stores located next to the fountain will also be relocating to make room for a new 12,000 foot store. In the latest city filings Broadway Plaza supplied renderings for this new store aka “Tenant X”. I have heard plenty of talk about Apple moving to this spot and by the look of these renderings it sure seems like this is tailor-made for Apple. What do you think, will Apple relocate to Broadway Plaza? Should they?

Friday Question of the Day – What are the Coolest Events in the Bay Area?

Yesterday I posted about the annual Maker Faire event taking place this weekend in San Mateo. I usually post about events in the East Bay but I made an exception in this case since it’s such a cool and unique event. What other really cool events take place in the Bay Area?

I know the Berkeley Kite Festival is cool. Bay to Breakers is fun to watch. What other must-see events take place in the Bay Area? Are there any good Renaissance Faires?

Friday Question of the Day – Should School Start Later?

Next school year school will start 40 minutes later at Joaquin Moraga Intermediate School in Moraga. Instead of a 7:50am start time school will begin at 8:30am. That means for those taking an extra period school will end close to 4pm. Considering how kids need more sleep is this a good idea or will the later end time cause havoc for extra curricular activities?

Thsi week we learned that “farm to table” restaurant Urban Plates is opening this month in Pleasant Hill. True Food Kitchen is opening this summer in Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek. Tender Greens has been open for several years in downtown Walnut Creek. What is your favorite “farm to table” restaurant that focuses on locally sourced ingredients? Which restaurant are you most looking forward to opening?

With summer approaching I’ve been thinking about places to visit which has me wondering what kind of memberships to Bay Area museums and other places people have. I have exactly one membership, Exploratorium in San Francisco, which never gets boring no matter how many times my kids visit. Friday Question of the Day – Have you ever supported a Kickstarter?

This week we learned about a new Kickstarter to support a natural skincare product from a local resident. I’ve never actually contributed to a Kickstarter but I find it interesting to browse. Have you ever contributed to a Kickstarter? Have you ever not received a product from a Kickstarter project? Were you satisfied with the product you eventually received?

Friday Question of the Day – Would you Boycott a Business due to Owner Behavior?

Earlier this we week we learned that the sandwich shop Jimmy John’s would be opening in a new location in Walnut Creek which garnered quite a few comments about not eating there due to being an “anti-worker company” whose founder, “trophy hunts endangered species”. There was also controversy when Chick-fil-A opened a few years ago in Walnut Creek due to their support of traditional marriage.

Have you ever boycotted going to a restaurant or store due to the behavior of the owner? Not in terms of poor service but rather beliefs you don’t agree with.

Friday Question of the Day – What is your Favorite Meal?

This week we learned that the Peruvian restaurant Limon Rotisserie will be coming to downtown Walnut Creek by fall, and ROOFTOP restaurant will be opening next month and after I checked out their menus I’m excited to try out some new dishes such as Limon’s slow roasted rotisserie chicken. At home these days I’m enjoying spaghetti with meat sauce for dinner. What’s your favorite meal?
