Thanks to those who sent word that the Walnut Creek DMV closed for good last month. According to the East Bay Times a new office will open in Pleasanton and stay tuned for a, “multi-family apartment complex on the lot” in the future. Check out the Concord DMV for a nearby office.
Rheem Valley Shopping Center, Moraga
An F45 Training gym is “coming soon” to Rheem Valley Shopping Center in Moraga where Mycra Pac used to be. Check for updates on their Facebook page here and find out more about F45 workouts here. According to one Facebook post, the owner has been a certified trainer since 2013, became Head Trainer of Orangetheory Fitness Palo Alto and, “previously owned and operated F45 Training San Mateo for 4 years (ranked top 5 worldwide)”.
Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
In September we learned that the North Vancouver-based clothing and gear company Arc’teryx would be coming to Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek where Everything But Water used to be, and they have now opened. Check out their online shop here. There’s still 25% off sitewide through today. It’s a small shop but all very high quality goods.

The cycling showroom First Mile Cycle Works, which will also be a “maintenance & demo center”, is opening in Lafayette next spring where Milosport used to be.

This week according to Contra Costa Health Services, the, “adjusted average daily number of new COVID-19 cases in Contra Costa has doubled in recent weeks, rising from 4.3 per 100,000 population on Oct. 16 to 9.2 on Nov. 16.” Contra Costa is now back in the red tier which has led to limits on indoor activities such as movie theaters, museums and other activities.
Given the degrading circumstances, are you planning on celebrating Thanksgiving with non-household family and/or friends next week?

I was holding out hope that Napa-based Heritage Eats, which opened a couple of years ago at Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek, would reopen, but alas, their signage has been taken down, with nary a mention on their website. Their Napa location is still open so check out their menu if you’re in the area. I enjoyed eating here while they were open and they were one of the last places I ate at before the SIP orders closed indoor dining.
