Before each screening, Lauren Jonas, Diablo Ballet Artistic Director, will share fascinating facts about the making of each film and the stars who made the films dance. You’ll also be able to enter a free drawing to win tickets to a future Diablo Ballet performance.

With the new Lafayette farmer’s market opening this Sunday, I was thinking about the different farmer’s markets around town. I’ve been to the downtown Walnut Creek, Lafayette (last year), Orinda and Moraga farmer’s markets many times and like them all. One of my recent favorites is the German booth at the Orinda farmer’s market that sells various German sausages and meats including schnitzel. The pretzels are great, too. Judging by their accents, I figure it has to be quite authentic.
So where is your favorite farmer’s market? Is it based on location or what is offered?
LUNAFEST, “short films by, for, about women”, will be held at Sports Basement in Walnut Creek on June 10th at 5pm. Prices range from $10 for seniors and students to $25 for VIP tickets. Proceeds to benefit The Wig Source and the Breast Cancer Fund. Sports Basement is located at 1881 Ygnacio Valley Rd. in Walnut Creek.
Back in October I noted that Hanna’s Bags in downtown Walnut Creek was moving, and now a new furniture store, SOFA a la carte, is opening soon. This is located next to Ming Quong which was having difficulty renewing their lease a few months ago so that’s a good sign probably.
