With the sad news this week that Robin Williams committed suicide I’ve been thinking about all the great movies he’s acted in. I first enjoyed watching Mork & Mindy on TV as a kid, and later watched some great movies he did such as Moscow on the Hudson, Good Morning, Vietnam, Dead Poets Society, The Fisher King, Mrs. Doubtfire and Good Will Hunting. What is your favorite Robin Williams film?

As if there were not enough ice cream options (San Francisco Creamery, Gelataria Naia, Lottie’s Creamery, CREAM) in downtown Walnut Creek, Kara’s Cupcakes is featuring ice cream cupcakes to entice people this summer. Anyone had a chance to try this? What’s the best combo?
Spotted in downtown Orinda at the roundabout at Moraga Way and Bryant Way near Orinda Theatre Square. The plaque says: Bryant Station Site which was the “terminus of the California and Nevada railroad”. It was named after San Francisco mayor Andrew J. Bryant, who “owned a large farm in Orinda Park”.

Back in June we learned that the rustic Lafayette restaurant American Kitchen, featuring natural Americana comfort foods was planning on a July soft opening but according to their Facebook page the opening has been pushed back to August. Progress is being made on the inside as well as out with what looks to be an additional dining area in front which will be great. They have also posted a dinner and lunch menu in their window. Check it out…
Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
The Broadway Plaza redevelopment in downtown Walnut Creek has completed the demolition phase as you can see by the lack of buildings next to Macy’s and Macy’s itself is getting refurbished, at least on the outside, as you can see in the photos. The side next to Corners Tavern looks like it’s getting a small addition as well.

It’s been a seriously long time coming but the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is finally opening in the Sprouts Shopping Center in Walnut Creek very soon as you can see by photos of the inside below. I have been to Starbucks and Peet’s plenty of times but this will be my first time at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf so I can’t wait to try it out! Check out their beverage menu here.
I’ll make sure to keep it under 30 minutes so I can park at one of the 30 minutes and under spots.
