Moraga Farmers Market
Moraga-based organic farm Hollie’s Homegrown recently started offering their culinary herbs/salts, herbal tea, honey, and healing oils for sale at the Moraga and Walnut Creek farmers market in the Shadelands business park. They can also be seen at the Fort Mason farmers market in San Francisco. Last week was their last day of the season but they’ll be back in Fall, 2015. Interestingly they are a finalist for the Martha Stewart “American Made” Awards. Check out their Facebook page here. I tried their lemon verbena tea leaves and it was really good!
From their website:
Hollie’s Homegrown is a small, organic family farm in Moraga, California (25 minutes east of San Francisco). We specialize in growing culinary herbs, herbal teas, and making herbal body & bath products. Grown to perfection in our own backyard (literally!), we keep a watchful eye on our precious plants like part of the family.

The Lafayette Weekly Roundup noted that Susan Foord Cafe in Lafayette would be closing soon and December 24th will be their final day. Anyone who shops at Trader Joe’s no doubt has seen this cafe driving into the parking lot. It was a cozy cafe inside with tasty soups, sandwiches and house made potato chips. Check out their Facebook page here.
The Bedford Gallery at the Lesher Center for the Arts in downtown Walnut Creek is hosting a new exhibit titled The Jealous Curator from Blog, Book, to Gallery through February 1st. What I found interesting about this exhibit are the art stations where anyone (not only children) can make their own art. Check out the portraits posted in the photo below.
From the exhibit website:
The Bedford brings the blogosphere into the gallery with a show by the internationally renowned art blogger, The Jealous Curator. The exhibition is designed to enlighten, inspire, and chase away creative blocks that inhibit the artist in all of us. using The Jealous Curator’s newly released book, Creative Block: Advice and Projects from 50 Successful Artist, as a launch pad, the exhibition features art in a variety of media and “unblocking” art-making stations designed by artists.
