This week we learned that the fast food restaurant Jack in the Box closed in Moraga which got me wondering what would eventually replace it. It’s been a very long time since I’ve been to McDonald’s but I do enjoy an In-N-Out burger every now and then. I also enjoy Chipotle. What is your favorite fast food restaurant?

A new ice cream spot featuring healthy and organic options called BlooGrape Organic Sworls is coming to Hartz Ave. in Danville. According to their website, you can choose a base from ice cream, yogurt, coconut milk, or fruit mix, along with a flavor, toppings and a “drizzle”.

A new fitness “bootcamp” called Fit Body Boot Camp has opened in the Moraga Shopping Center where Safeway is where the Karate & Fitness Place used to be. Check out their website here.

The Swedish clothing store H&M is relocating to the backside of Broadway Plaza next to the new GAP store this fall in Walnut Creek. Judging by the photo below it’s going to have have a huge second floor footprint. They are currently located a stone’s throw away at the Broadway Pointe shopping center.

$40Celebrated pianist Geri Allen is a Guggenheim Fellow and NAACP Award recipient. A respected composer and educator, Ms. Allen’s many honors also include the 2014 Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Jazz Legacy Award and has released 20 albums as a leader. Her group will feature alto sax legend and Grammy nominee John Handy. Ms. Allen has collaborated with a pantheon of living masters including Ornette Coleman, Charles Lloyd, Betty Carter, Charlie Haden, Esperanza Spalding and more.
Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
Over the weekend Cleveland-based Arhaus furniture store opened their first Northern California location in Broadway Plaza and it’s situated on two floors in a massive spot on the backside of the plaza Broadway Ln. in downtown Walnut Creek. When I first entered it reminded me of Restoration Hardware in certain respects. The selection is enormous with an expansive second floor which connects directly to the parking garage.
