Main Street Kitchen, which closed back in March for an expansion and remodeling has reopened in downtown Walnut Creek. It’s far bigger now since they expanded next door and have an open kitchen, full bar, and even a cool looking pizza oven (see photo below). They even have four individual restrooms! (Sink is outside though). Check out their brunch menu here, lunch menu here and dinner menu here. Check out their website here. The food here is delicious! Keep in mind they are a ‘no tip’ restaurant, instead they charge a 20% service charge for everyone.

Sugaria Beauty, a salon in San Francisco, opened a second location in downtown Walnut Creek a few months ago. Interestingly, they offer hair removal services that uses sugar! I’ve heard of waxes and lasers for hair removal but never knew it could be done with sugar.
From their website:
Sugaring is a unique and natural way to remove hair. It is made from food-derived ingredients, and is natural. Yes, you can even eat it!! No animal tests were used in developing and producing the product.

Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
It’s been over a year since we learned that Apple would be relocating across the street in Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek and they’ll finally be opening on July 28th at 10am according to the Apple Walnut Creek web page. Note there will be plenty of floor to ceiling windows surrounding the building; it’s just papered over in these photos. Also, the open space behind the store where Starbucks, Lacoste/Tesla and Lucky Jeans used to be is huge! New benches surround the fountain and new paver stones have been placed throughout this section of the plaza. This is going to be a great place to stroll around.

A new appointment-only barbershop called The Salty Barber opened in Walnut Creek. Check out their services here. In the back is a salon called Tonic Skin Bar. Check out their services here.
From the Salty Barber website:
The Salty Barber, Wes Craig, has been a traditional barber in the Bay Area for nearly ten years.
Trained in the ways of classic traditional barbering, Wes is passionate about keeping the heritage and history of the craft alive. He even went as far as the Netherlands to train at the Old School Barber Academy.
Wes specializes in Classic Traditional Men’s haircuts as well as popular current styles.
From the Tonic Skin Bar website:
Now, after 15 years working as an Esthetician and Skin Care Educator with some of the top spas and skin care brands in the country, Andrea has poured her heart into creating a unique destination close to home. At the beginning of the year we learned that a Peloton cycling showroom would be coming to Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek and they have now opened, this being their third Bay Area location. For about $2,000 you get a stationary bike and for about $40/month you get access to on-demand and live classes. I took a test ride and was impressed with both the bike (smooth!) and the classes displayed on a giant tablet. There are plenty of class styles and times to fit one’s schedule and goals. Check out their schedule here. The bike/service also tracks performance metrics which can be used to compare to others if desired. According to someone I spoke they’re also planning on introducing a treadmill in a couple of months which will also be available at this showroom. Check out their website here.
