Giuseppe’s Pasta & Grill Closes in San Ramon

2540 San Ramon Valley Blvd, San Ramon

Thanks to a reader for sending word that the San Ramon mainstay Giuseppe’s Pasta & Grill closed on August 27th. From their Facebook page:

For almost 20 years, Giuseppe’s has proudly served the San Ramon Valley, providing good quality food at a fair price in a family friendly atmosphere. Back in 1998, the folks of San Ramon welcomed us with open arms and for that we will be forever grateful.
Through the years, we’ve hosted wonderful parties, celebrations, surprises and even a couple of weddings. We’ve been fortunate to have benefitted from great friendships and loyal customers over the years and they all will be missed.
It has been a pleasure to have worked with such a wonderful and faithful staff; several have been with us for many, many years. Countless thanks to them for their dedication, hard work and loyalty, as we couldn’t have done it without them.
Now, after all these years, we are sorry to inform you that effective Sunday August 27th, Giuseppe’s will be closing its doors. The landlord has plans for the building and he will not be renewing the lease.
Thank you for your friendship and patronage,
until we meet again…
Joseph Marra & Family

Sports Basement Coming to San Ramon October 1st

Thanks to a reader for sending word that Sports Basement is opening a new store in San Ramon where Orchard Supply Hardware used to be in the Marketplace Shopping Center. They expect to open October 1st.

From their website:

We are beyond excited to open our 7th Sports Basement in the amazing community of San Ramon! This is an area we have been watching for a while and when the old Orchard Supply Hardware location became available we jumped on it.

We’re busy transforming the building into the lovable local Sports Basement our customers expect and can’t wait to meet all of our neighbors from San Ramon, Danville, Alamo, Dublin, Pleasanton, Diablo, Blackhawk and Livermore.

Pictured above is San Ramon’s new General Manager, John Courtney, who led our Walnut Creek store for the past few years. You’ll probably recognize him from the store or the Diablo mountain bike trails.

If you would like inquire about using our store’s community space or discuss other partnerships email Toni Lum who is in charge of local community outreach. If you would like to join the Sports Basement San Ramon team visit our jobs page to fill out an application.

See you October 1st at our grand opening party!
