Welcome to the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival®, one of California’s most prominent celebrations of Asian traditions and the biggest on the West coast. Since 1968, the Festival serves to cultivate the continued alliance between Japan and the United States using culture as its bridge. Each year, over 220,000 people attend this dazzling display showcasing the vibrant colors and grace of the Japanese culture and the diversity of the Japanese American Community.

All are welcome to join in the festivities as we celebrate Japanese and Japanese American culture in San Francisco’s Japantown! We expect this year to be filled with special events and new attractions.

Mayor London Breed as Grand Marshal will lead the parade down Market St.For 168 years, the Irish and their many friends in the communities that make up the San Francisco Bay Area have celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with a parade. Last year over 130 groups participated in the parade. The theme of the parade is Women Breaking Barriers.

Bring the fam and join us on Saturday February 9th at Chinatown on Grant and Jackson for a special NEW EVENT-CHOY SUN DOE DAY!

Who is Choy Sun? He’s the God of Wealth and who wouldn’t want to welcome a deity like that? He blesses all with much prosperity and an abundance of wealth!

There will be performances, food, a petting zoo and ONE HUNDRED CHOY SUNS milling around passing out RED ENVELOPES (to kiddies only, sorry adult people) filled with a sweet treat and possibly a voucher for a toy *or* MONEY of course.

Event time is from 10AM to 4PM. Choy Suns will flood the area to sprinkle red envelopes at 12:28PM. Be there and get BLE$$ED!

The Chinese New Year Flower Market Fair is held on the weekend before Chinese New Year Day. The Flower Fair is the place to come to purchase fresh flowers, fruits, candies and brand new supplies for the home to begin the new lunar year. Delight in performances of traditional Chinese magicians, acrobats, folk dancers and opera as you take in the beautiful fragrances of spring. You will find over 120 booths and concessions making this a shopper’s paradise.
