Red Wagon, the children’s store located at 3535A Mt. Diablo Blvd. in La Fiesta Square, Lafayette is closing by summer when their lease is up. There is a possibility it might be sold instead. I have heard scuttlebutt that a different children’s store in the Piedmont area may relocate to Lafayette so maybe they could take over this place?
Lamorinda CrossFit, located at 1031 Blackwood Ln. in Lafayette, recently moved to a bigger location right next door to their old location, and they are having a grand re-opening celebration on April 22nd at 4pm. From an email:
Join your Cave Family for a celebration in FINALLY making our move to the New Cave! We are thrilled with our new space and are grateful that you are part of our growing community!
Potluck style bash. Bring food, snack, dessert or drink to share. Friends and family are welcome!
Disclosure: I am a member of this CrossFit gym and really like the bigger location. Stop by and say hi if you’re nearby!
Spotted at the intersection of Moraga Rd. and St. Marys Rd in Lafayette, these homes will be conveniently located a few blocks from downtown Lafayette right near Lafayette Circle. Judging by the sign the homes will be made by Ryder Homes. Anyone interested?

Downtown Walnut Creek has plenty of pizzerias:
and Lafayette shall not be forgotten:
So the Friday Question of the Day is about pizza. Everyone loves pizza right? Well, almost everyone I imagine. As much as I love the atmosphere at Skipolini’s or Pinky’s, if we’re going on taste I’m going to have to go with Pizza Antica in Lafayette hands down.
So what is your favorite pizza joint in Walnut Creek or Lafayette? If I’ve missed any please comment and I’ll add them in as well.
Yesterday’s Treasures, a new consignment store recently opened in Lafayette about 2 weeks ago. It’s located at 996 Moraga Rd. next to Squirrels Coffee Shop and focuses on larger items like sofas and furniture but also offers smaller items as can be seen by the photo below:
This is their 3rd store; the other stores are located in Antioch and Brentwood. From their website:
We are a furniture consignment store offering the most unique, attractive, and many times one of a kind home furnishings. We specialize in newly used and unique furniture at affordable prices. Even our antiques and vintage pieces are in impeccable condition!!
Flipper’s Burger’s in Lafayette has been replaced by TAO Restaurant which opened this month at 960 Moraga Rd. They specialize in Ramen noodles and also have a breakfast menu of omelets, pancakes, waffles and French toast. Amazingly they still offer Flipper’s hamburgers. Turns out the chef at Flipper’s stayed on at Tao so you can enjoy your burgers AND Japanese noodles.
Has anyone tried the Ramen here? Any fans?
Chipotle has been open in Lafayette since September, and it looks like it’s a popular place judging by the amount of traffic. Along with the new Whole Foods supermarket, that strip is definitely getting more foot traffic compared to before. It’s interesting how both chains existed in Walnut Creek before migrating over to Lafayette.
Sunday was a beautiful day for the Lafayette Reservoir Run. Note the sign trying to position runners in the appropriate positions. Elite runners at front.
Here you can see the 5K race as it was about to begin.
I’m not sure what they were selling here, but it was a great setup.
The race results can be viewed here:
