Once again, the evening will be informal and highly interactive; Harvey will be addressing your questions throughout the discussion.

A new artisan chocolate vendor called Fera’wyn’s is now at the downtown Walnut Creek farmers’ market on Locust Street on Sundays. Check out their most popular chocolates here. They look like works of art, very beautiful! I also noticed they were selling chocolate mousse as well. Their Facebook page is here.

I first noted that Hiro Sushi would be opening in place of CU Sushi at the corner of Locust St. and Giamonna Dr. in downtown Walnut Creek back in May and they have now opened. Couldn’t find a menu though, anyone try this place out? How does it compare to CU Sushi?
The musical chairs continues as Victoria’s Secret will be moving a few stores down where Bath & Body Works used to be in Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek. The opening is planned for November. In June I noted that J.Jill was also moving within Broadway Plaza so it’s interesting seeing so much action going on there recently. If I recall the new location where Bath & Body Works used to be is far smaller than Victoria’s Secret current spot.

From the Walnut Creek PD:
On the above date and time [August 24th, 2013, 11:06pm], WCPD received a call that an armed robbery had just occurred at the Corner’s Tavern Restaurant office. Responding officers arrived within a minute and found the suspects had robbed an employee in the back office. Other employees and patrons in the restaurant were unaware of what transpired.
A neighborhood canvass resulted in a witness who saw the two suspects flee south towards Newell Avenue and to a waiting car. The car was described as a silver colored SUV, possibly a Jeep Cherokee and it fled northbound through the Broadway Plaza parking garage.
Loss from the business was an as of yet undetermined amount of money. No one was injured during the robbery and the investigation continues. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Walnut Creek Police Department at (925) 943-5844.

I noticed a public notice of application to sell alcoholic beverages on the We Olive window in Walnut Creek and it turns out they plan on offering wine tasting in addition to selling olive oil. The wine tasting section will be located in the back of the store.
