Thanks to @brandishstudio for pointing out that Citra Grill is closing in downtown Walnut Creek. They opened in 2012 and featured fresh Mediterranean-style California cuisine such as skewers, salads and soups. Check out their menu here.
According to a letter in the window, they lost their lease unexpectedly and are looking for an alternate location where they plan on converting to a “more traditional full-service restaurant”.
A reader writes:
“Call me a grinch, but I really don’t appreciate Anthropologie throwing away four real, gorgeous, perfectly good trees just because their holiday decorations needed to come down after Christmas. Luckily I went inside and asked if I could rescue them. The lady inside commented that she was shocked they weren’t already trashed and gone. This just seemed wrong to me…”

Collector’s Choice Antiques, which opened in 2011 according to their website, is closing at the end of January in Lafayette with “up to 75% off continual markdowns”. Very interesting stuff inside, be sure to check it out before they close!

Powell’s Sweet Shoppe has closed in Lafayette however not to worry; according to a sign in the window, they are remodeling and will reopen as Zoonie’s on January 18th, “the same great store with all the sweets, gelato, chocolates and delights you love, under a different name”. According to their Facebook page, “the name change is because we will no longer be part of the Powell’s franchise. We will be an independent store.”
Note that they will be “serving free gelato Wednesday January 18 and all day Saturday January 21“.

The women’s clothing store “holiday pop-up”, Amour Vert has closed in Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek.
