The highly anticipated restaurant, Social Bird, from the owners of Esin and Revel in Danville, opened this weekend in the former Yankee Pier space at the Lafayette Mercantile shopping plaza. Check out the menu here. As you can see from the photos below, they offer oysters, beer on tap and have a spacious wrap-around bar with plenty of seating. I look forward to checking this place out!

Over the summer Rheem Theatre temporarily closed as it was remodeled after being bought by Cinema West, and they have now reopened. The new theater offers reserved stadium seating rooms as well a main auditorium featuring a 60 foot wide screen with a Dolby Atmos sound system. To top it off, every seat is an electric recliner. Over the weekend I saw the new Star Wars movie (reserved via Fandango) and was impressed by the upgrades!
