Come to the Concord Library to meet four of the women who worked in shipyards in Richmond and Oakland during World War II. Their jobs included welder, draftsman and electrician. “Rosie the Riveter” is the popular name for women who worked in the defense industry during World War II. The name Rosie the Riveter comes from a popular song written in 1942. Join us at this special event and meet these inspiring women who will tell their stories, show their photos and share their unique perspective of the World War II Home Front.
