A new coffee shop called Lever Coffee Parlor is coming to downtown Walnut Creek where Schroder Insurance used to be. In addition to coffee and food, there will also be a barber shop! Check out the coffee parlor site here and barber shop site here.

Thanks to a reader for pointing out that Cinco de Mayo has closed in downtown Walnut Creek. According to a sign in the window their Concord restaurant remains open. Look for Patron Mexican Grill to come here soon.
Last year we learned that Kuki’s Ice Cream Cakes closed at the Palos Verdes mall in Walnut Creek with Taqueria La Plaza “coming soon”. As you can see in the above photo the signage is up but no word yet on when they will open.
The Pancoast Pizza expansion that we learned would be opening in Walnut Creek last year is now complete and they are open for business with patio seating as you can see from the above photo. Check out their website here.
Thanks to a reader for sending word about a new restaurant called Manakish Oven & Grill coming to Walnut Creek at the corner of N. Main St. and Geary Rd. where Bee & Tea used to be. According to Wikipediamanakish is, “a popular Levantine [Eastern Mediterranean] food consisting of dough topped with thyme, cheese, or ground meat. Similar to a pizza, it can be sliced or folded, and it can be served either for breakfast or lunch.” Check out their website here.
