Fairly new and appropriate sign at Hirsch Vision in downtown Walnut Creek on Locust St.

I noticed Lottie’s Creamery received a stop work order recently for unauthorized exterior work which is unfortunate but the progress on the inside is coming along nicely judging from the photo below. Originally scheduled to open in the Fall, delayed to December, I’m hoping for a January opening. Lottie’s Creamery is located in downtown Walnut Creek at 1414 N. Main St. across the street from Wells Fargo.

With all this rain we’ve been having lately I thought it would be appropriate to note that a Liberty Bell kiosk that was not open initially called The Cover Up is now offering up umbrellas and rain gear. Not sure how long the kiosks will remain open after the holidays but this seems like good timing. The Liberty Bell kiosks are located in downtown Walnut Creek where the restaurant Il Forniao is located, across the street from Nordstrom.

Wishing everyone a a very merry Christmas in Walnut Creek, Lafayette and nearby areas. Safe travels for those on the road this time of year and have a great time with family and friends!

Looks like plans for renaming The Pizza Place in downtown Walnut Creek have fallen through as it is now closed. According to a sign in the window it has been sold. Last month I noted that the store next door, SOFA a la carte also closed. Two stores down the iconic Walnut Creek jewelery and gift shop Ming Quong renewed their lease back in June, however there is an option to terminate the lease within 18 months so it’s possible all three storefronts could be combined into one store. Stay tuned…

Thanks to a reader for sending in this photo of the Lafayette Bookstore Christmas tree. Very appropriate ornaments!

Bare Escentuals has been rebranded as bareMinerals in Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek. According to an employee I spoke with they are now focusing on their bareMinerals line of cosmetics. The new signage looks great. bareMinerals is located at 1237 Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek.

When Diablo Dish mentioned an East Coast style pizza joint that recently opened in Walnut Creek I knew I had to check it out. Located next to Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek on S. Main St, when I visited it was pretty packed. It’s been open since March, and it turns out the owner is originally from near Philadelphia and offers genuine hoagies AKA sub sandwiches in addition to New York style pizza. Check out their menu here. As much as I love the pizza at Pizza Antica in Lafayette I do miss regular New York style pizza every now and then so I’ll be back to try a slice or two. Any fans of this place? How are the hoagies?

Now that’s a pizza!

Pancoast Pizza is located at 1516 S. Main St. in Walnut Creek next to Las Lomas High School.

Dear Creekville,
Any chance you could do a post about area Santas? Would love to hear your opinion about which one we should take our daughter to go visit. I’m curious to know myself.
Apart from the Broadway Plaza Santa in Walnut Creek (photo studio) I’m stumped, anyone know where the Santas are around here?
