Back in October I posted about progress on the high end ice cream shop Lottie’s Creamery, and the signage is now up and looks great. I’m really looking forward to trying this place out but I’m not sure if a December opening is in the cards like they note on their Facebook page. One can hope though!
A new popup art gallery called A Tom Matousek Gallery will be open through the holidays in the alley behind Patxi’s Pizzeria in downtown Lafayette on Mt. Diablo Blvd. Several artists are represented in various mediums such as paintings, photography and sculptures. When I dropped by the first time the art seemed familiar to me, and that’s because the artwork was on display at Cypress restaurant in Walnut Creek. Recognize it? I think it looks incredible! You can follow the gallery on their Facebook page here. They will be hosting a poetry reading soon so keep checking their page for updates.
Check out the artwork by Susan Jenkins and Tom Matousek:

This is really great stuff so if you’re in the area definitely drop by and check it out. The photos don’t do justice to how cool it really is. Can anyone name the musicians depicted in the artwork above?

The public is invited to an Open House from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 to provide input on several designs being considered as part of the City’s wayfinding project. The Open House will be in the Oak View Room in the downtown library.
The goal of the wayfinding system is to make it easier for residents and visitors alike to find everything from parking to parks though an organized system of coordinated directional signs.
A committee of City staff and community stakeholders has been working with Hunt Design to develop a draft wayfinding plan that includes proposed sign locations, destinations to be included on signs, and design possibilities.
At the Dec. 12 Open House, attendees will be able to review full-size mockups of the various designs and get information about the science behind wayfinding from Hunt Design. Wayfinding steering committee members will also be on hand to answer questions and solicit feedback.
The Open House will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 12 in the Oak View Room in the downtown Library.
